Very Large Flavio Poli Deep Blue 1950s Leaf Centrepiece

Found in Murano, Very Large Flavio Poli Deep Blue 1950s Leaf CentrepieceMurano

This wonderful hand-blown deep blue Leaf Shaped Centrepiece was made in Murano, Venice in the 1950s. It is exceptionally heavy (6Kg) and its large size (37cm x 32cm) means that it would make a wonderful centrepiece for an elegant coffee table. It is attributed to Flavio Poli. Flavio Poli was the Artistic Director of Seguso Vetri D'Arte, the renowned Venetian Glassware house in Murano from 1934 to 1963. There are records of his work including this particular design in Flavio Poli's historic glassware catalogues. His overall renown as one of the key 20th century Murano glassware designers means his pieces are now displayed in both Moma in New York and the Murano Glass Museum in Venice. This piece is in good condition, it has minor scratches on the base due to its age and the three small marks on the base used to hold the piece in place whilst it was hand-blown. We are lucky to have come across such an exquisite and rare design from the 1950s in such good condition.
