1960s Salviati Quadruple Sommerso Purple Vase

Salviati is one of the World's most renowned glass blowing furnaces in Venice. It was founded in 1859 and has since then produced some of the most desirable pieces of Murano glass. This piece is a quadruple sommerso (submerged) glass Vase. A green layer is submerged into purple, deep pink and finally clear hand-blown glass. Either side is flanked with slightly uneven dark purple edges. It is an exceptionally rare early 1960s piece with part of the original Salviati sticker attached and tiny air bubbles evidencing its hand blown and hand made nature. It was found in a private home near Arezzo.
