This wonderful small oil painting of an Italian farmhouse was painted by the Italian artist Enrico Ortalani in 1919. It is signed and dated on the front of the piece. The Umbrian farmhouse is magically transformed by the Italian sunlight and the tiny chickens in the courtyard. Enrico Ortalani (1883-1972) was an Italian painter who trained at The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Many of his paintings were of the Umbrian countryside and of countryside in Lazio outside Rome. Ortalani's paintings have been purchased by the royal family of Italy, by the Ministry of Education, by the Municipality of Rome and appear in public galleries. This painting comes with its original frame which is not in good condition and thus the picture would benefit from reframing.
