1970s Triple Sommerso Turquoise Vase

Found in Tuscany, 1970s Triple Sommerso Turquoise VaseTuscany

A very wonderful triple sommerso Murano glass vase hand-blown in the 1970s. The centre of the vase is a mesmerising turquoise blue and it is submerged in a layer of cloudy pale blue and transparent glass. The technique used to create this exceptional piece is called sommerso which literally means submerged. The molten layers of glass were submerged one inside the other during the glass blown process. It is rare to find a piece so beautiful and in good condition.
