17th Century Miniature Map of Milan

An extraordinary miniature map of the ancient city of Milan published in Padua by Matteo Cadorin in the 1670 edition of Francesco Scoto's 'Itinerary of Italy' guide.
This delightful small map has intricate details of the ancient streets and monuments as seen from a bird's eye view, with Milan's coat of arms on the left. The map shows the organic shape of the city by giving weight to the remarkable structures and buildings and ancient walls. It is well preserved with uniform inking and the original 17th century paper it was printed on. We have mounted it here in Florence but recommend that it is framed to preserve it for the future.
