Two hand-painted terracotta bowls made in the 1800s in the Cortona region of Italy and found in Arezzo. The unique and rare shape of the bowls is known as 'Conche della Valdichiana' and is specific to this region of Italy. The first bowl is hand-painted with a bird in the centre and decorative motif around the edges. The second has a beautiful hand-painted leaf pattern. The bowls are made for decorative purposes and to be hung on a wall. They have small holes for hanging the pieces to the back. These exceptional terracotta bowls are discerning collector's items from the 19th Century. Please note the bowl with the pattern has a chip on the outer rim approx 1cm as seen in the photograph.
