Late 1800s Large Green Orcio
Puglia
Found in Puglia and typical in shape for this region, this is a wonderful deep green glazed orcio originally used for storing wine or olive oil. More commonly seen in orange and brown colours, we were particularly attracted to this piece as it is so rare to see these in green. The dark green glaze is offset by brighter green stripes throughout. Made by hand in the late 1800s. The glaze has started to wear off around the rim due to use and consistent with its age. A beautiful piece.
