THE COLLECTOR & CO.

“Each object that we find has a design history and a life story that calls to mind the beautiful past that made it.”

Bec Astley Clarke MBE is The Italian Collector. She lives in Umbria, the heart of Italy, with her family on top of a hill with views towards Rome. One hundred years ago, Bec’s grandparents Connie and Sigmund Seifert (Londoners) forged a great friendship with the Perretta Family (Romans). This led to a bond that has spanned three generations and a love affair with Italy and all things Italian.

Bec is originally from London, she was born in Islington and later lived with her husband and children in Bayswater. In 2006, Bec founded the British luxury jewellery and ecommerce brand, AstleyClarke.com. She has worked with luxury goods, brands and ecommerce for over 25 years. In 2013, Bec was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) by Her Majesty the Queen for services to jewellery and ecommerce. Astley Clarke continues to flourish as a beautiful brand both online and with concessions in Selfridges and Liberty in London.  In addition, Bec has sat on the Advisory Board of Theirworld, The Global Education Charity, Chaired by Sarah Brown since 2010 and also sits on Greenpeace's Ocean's Board.

Bec has immersed herself in Italian life and culture for the last nine years and has been collecting antique and vintage pieces for the last five. She works with a small local team, Giulia who looks after your orders and delivery, Natalie Russo who does much of our photography and Giorgio who is a master upholsterer and furniture restorer. Special thanks also goes to Sallie, our talented designer who works remotely from her office in France.
