This photolithograph reproduces a 1946 pencil drawing by Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966), made in the years when his famous elongated standing figures were taking shape. A slender female nude stands in the middle of a sketched studio, her arms raised above her head, surrounded by the quick, searching lines that are typical of his hand. The signature and the date 1946 are printed in the plate, lower right.
