An Extremely Large 1960s Murano glass bowl (or cigar ashtray) designed by Flavio Poli. This wonderful piece is hand-blown in deep red glass using the sommerso (submerged) effect where molten red glass is set in a layer of molten yellow glass. This incredible piece shows some signs of age with light scratches on the base and some cloudiness on the inside presumably where cigars were once placed. Nevertheless, this is a wonderful and very unusual piece due to its tremendous scale.
