“Campagna Toscana Montepulciano” (The Tuscan Countryside of Montepulciano) is a 1978 oil painting by the Italian artist, Mario Disertori. Signed by Disertori and dated on the back, this rich oil painting depicts an olive grove, vines, the burnt yellow Tuscan grasses and a country home hiding amongst the trees. The work is signed on the lower right and inscribed on the reverse “Campagna Toscana Montepulciano” 1978 with a dedication to the original owners”
Mario Disertori (1895–1980) studied at the art academies of both Florence and Venice and became known for his luminous landscapes of Tuscany, the Veneto and the Ligurian coast. His paintings were shown at the Venice Biennale and in leading Italian exhibitions. The painting is still in its original frame.
