Designed by L. Ansaldo in 1939, ‘Littoriali del mare, maggio XVII’ is an original Italian lithographic poster created for national university sailing championships. It was printed by “Saiga, già Barabino & Graeve, Genova”, a known Italian printing house in Genoa. A trio of simple white sails cuts across a deep blue sea, with strict geometric lettering that places the work in the rationalist graphic tradition and gives it a clean, modern look. Surviving 100 × 70 cm prints of this poster are rare and much sought after by fans of Italian sporting and design history. In its original frame.
