“Estate in Versilia” 1961 Oil Painting by Mario Disertori
“Estate in Versilia” (Summer in Versilia) is a 1961 oil painting by the Italian artist, Mario Disertori. Signed by Disertori and dated on the back, this sublime oil painting shows a field full of sunflowers, trees and a farmhouse with a wooden rowing boat under the shifting sky of Versilia. The work is signed on the lower right and inscribed on the reverse “N.38 estate in Versilia 1961 M.D.”
Mario Disertori (1895–1980) studied at the art academies of both Florence and Venice and became known for his luminous landscapes of Tuscany, the Veneto and the Ligurian coast. His paintings were shown at the Venice Biennale and in leading Italian exhibitions. The painting is still in its original frame.
