Pair of 1940s Guglielmo Ulrich Chairs in Burgundy Velvet

Sale price€9.500,00

These 1940s Italian armchairs by Guglielmo Ulrich, demonstrate the restrained sculptural language associated with post-war Italian furniture design. Their curved wooden frames and open backrests combine structural economy with Italian beauty.

Guglielmo Ulrich (1904–1977) was a Milanese architect, furniture designer and painter who played an important role in the development of Italian modernism. After studying architecture in Milan, he co-founded the furnishings company Arca in 1930, and went on to produce much sought after pieces of furniture.

This pair was made in Italy during the 1940s and has been professionally reupholstered in Florence in burgundy velvet. Preserved as a matching set, the chairs are representative of the period’s interest in handcrafted furniture and design heritage.

Dimensions: H73cm x W101cm x D50cm
